Dan and I made a trip out to Saskatoon this past weekend to attend the wedding of my friend Melissa. The day was great. The weather hadnt been the nicest the days prior, but it cleared up that morning to provide a beautiful sunny setting for the wedding in the park. Vince and Melissa’s parents walked them each down across the grass through a gathering of friends and family. Vince’s sister provided the service for the wedding and as a slight wind blew and the sun warmed all our faces Melissa and Vince recited personal vows to each other. Afterwards we all mingled for a bit for some fun pictures until the family and wedding party venture off for photographs. It had been a while since I had seen Melissas family, especially the girls (Tina, Geriene, Leanne and Eve) and Neil so it was a nice to get to chat with them again. And as always, it was great to see Gerry and Jacke (Melissas parents), who always make me feel like family. The celebration continued that evening at the Forestry Farm near the university where good food, lots of laughs and lots of dancing where shared by everyone. I had the pleasuer of meeting many of Vinces family, it seemed all the engineers in his family sat at our table…the nerdy table. Probably one of my favorite moments of the evening was Melissa and her baba dancing. Dan and I had to catch a very early flight back home so we couldn’t stay the entire night, but we were both so happy that we were ablet to make it out to celebrate this wonderful day with Melissa and Vince. Congratulations Melissa and Vince, I wish you an eternity of love and happiness.
