Five years ago today I met my wonderful husband. It wasn’t your typical meeting, we didn’t bump into each other at the supermarket, we didn’t have any mutual friends, and we hadn’t been set up on a blind date. We met on the internet. This picture was my first introduction to Dan. At first glance I thought he was pulling down his pants so I had to look even closer. He wasn’t, but it was so funny that I had to at least say hi. So I did. And the rest took care of itself. Dan worked in the building just down the street from mine, we probably passed each other on our way to work many times and chances are we ate in the same food court. Dan put a white binder in his office window so I would know where he was, even after moving offices a couple of times that binder is still there, so I always know where he is. Our first date was at Earls. Dan picked me up…what a cute guy was all I could think. We just went for a pop and Dan had hot wings, not the recommended first date food, but I didn’t care. We talked a lot, about stuff you normally don’t pull out on the first date, it didn’t matter though; we were both pretty excited about being there. We talked of recent disastrous dating experiences, and spent a lot of time just laughing. When the evening was done Dan drove me home and even walked me to my door. He kissed me good night. I had never had that happen before. After that we have been pretty inseparable. I will be forever thankful and blessed for this day in September 2000 to have met my best friend, my husband, my love.
