Concert and Election

Well, it was a pretty eventful night for a woman with child who as hardly done more than dinner and a movie in the past few months.

First we came home and had dinner with the Beagle and then we walked over to our polling station to vote. It seemed to be a bigger turnout than the last election which I thought was great. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to vote and I think one that every eligible person should take advantage of. I was sure proud to be able to cast my ‘x’ on a ballot. I also think voting gives you the right to complain, if you didn’t voice your opinion on Election Day they you should just keep quiet about the government.

After voring, Dan and I went to a concert. It was a Nickelback concert, but we went to see Live who opened for them. They were amazing. That is one group on my list of bands to see in my lifetime. They played a few old songs; Dolphins Cry, I Alone, Lightning Crashes and also some new stuff which was great, cant wait for the new album. We didn’t stay to see Nickelback though, and not because we don’t like them because Dan and I both like their music but we have seen them before and we had another event to attend.

The Conservative Party election rally. Dan volunteered for the election campaign for the Conservatives and he wanted to go and watch the results of the election unfold with the rest of the Conservative supporters. I have never been to a rally like that before so it was kind of neat. We watched the results unfold, listened to the leaders give their speeches on a big screen and the Stephen Harper showed up at the event to give his speech. It was pretty late by the time we got home (midnight) but it was a fun night nonetheless and I got to do a couple of things I had never done before so that made it that much cooler.
