What a wonderful birthday weekend. Dan took me out to Banff for the weekend and we stayed at the beautiful Banff Springs Hotel. All I can say is WOW!. Above all the beauty of the hotel and beauty of surroundings what I was most impressed with was host wonderful the staff at the hotel were. Every single person we encountered went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Dan had booked us into a room, we were expecting a small suite with a bed and maybe a couch. What we got was much more. We had a room, with a bed and attached bathroom that was connected through a second door to a gigantic parlour/sitting room. The parlour was bigger than the bedroom. It had a couple of couches, an electric fireplace, a bar , a separate bathroom and a couple more chairs. It was way too much space for just two people, but we did our best to use all the space. Our room overlooked the valley and the views were breathtaking. We did a bit of walking in Banff, toured some of the shops, spent some time lounging in the hotel pool and just relaxed. Dan took me for my birthday dinner to the Rimrock Hotel, another very beautiful hotel (ours was better though). And to top off our weekend we enjoyed some services from the spa at the Banff springs and then enjoyed their famous Sunday brunch. It was a wonderful relaxing weekend, a perfect way to celebrate my birthday and get us relaxed and ready to go for the busy months ahead.
