The Prettiest Cat I Know

SleepingFreya1.jpg

It’s been about six years that my girl Freya and I have been together. I still remember the day when I first saw her at the SPCA. She was so tiny and when I opened her cage to pick her up she jumped right out and onto my shoulder, we have been pretty inseparable every since. We call her the tiniest cat in the world, but she has an attitude to make up for it. She will cuddle with you, on her own terms and if you show the slightest interest in wanting to cuddle, she will refuse. She loves to play and will jump at any piece of string that is dangled above her. For a while she even played a bit of fetch, although never actually bringing the item to you, but placing it just far enough away as to ensure you had to get up to retrieve it. She follows me everywhere; I feel so loved by her to know that she always wants to know where I am in the house and most times will stay with me wherever I am. I remember when I first brought her home to my little apartment, her favorite place to sleep was in this pot of dirt that was sitting on a table, I couldn’t bring myself to plant anything in there, where would my girl sleep? When she does get the urge to snuggle, so goes at it full force. Her preference is to nuzzle right in my hair, purr loudly and knead my head. She ends up pulling my hair but it is so hard to resist her. I am not sure what’s up lately, if it has been all the renovations taking place in the house or the little person growing inside me, but Freya has been extra attentive and extra cuddly, I am certainly not complaining. Either she sits in the sofa arm beside me, on the back of the couch nuzzled in my hair, lying across my chest purring away, or saying hello to me when she enters the room, she has been constantly reminding me of how blessed I feel to have meet her six years ago.
